Meschutt is a supervised stillwater bathing beach on Great Peconic Bay, just east of the Shinnecock Canal. The county also lists a windsurfing and sailing area and a food concession. It is the county’s bay-side answer to the Town’s ocean beaches at Ponquogue and Tiana.
Cost and who it suits
Parking is $9 per vehicle for a resident with a Green Key and $18 for a non-resident. That is cheaper than the Town’s $40 daily rate, and the county applies no residency test to the $18 rate. A Town of Southampton sticker is not valid here.
Directions from the county: take Sunrise Highway to exit 66, the first exit east of the canal, go straight at the stop sign, turn right at the next one and take the first left. The entrance is on the right. See Hampton Bays, Ponquogue Beach and the non-resident access guide. For the water, see Hamptons Beach Day.
