Montauk Point State Park takes in the lighthouse grounds at the end of the South Fork and the former Camp Hero. State Parks says Montauk Point requires a vehicle use fee during the scheduled times listed on its page. Outside those times, entry rules differ, so read the schedule before you drive the last stretch.
What we can and cannot confirm
The State Parks site blocked our automated check, so we are not quoting the current fee amount or schedule. The page we cite is the official source for both. The Empire Pass is an $80 annual card that State Parks says covers most state park entrances.
For a town-run alternative, Kirk Park Beach sells an 8-hour session at $35. Hither Hills is the other State Parks beach. See Montauk and the non-resident access guide. For what to do at the point, see Hamptons Beach Day.
