Getting in
Your options are a seasonal or monthly permit, the free window before 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m., or arriving on foot or by bike from the village. The East Hampton Circuit shuttle serves Main Beach, not Egypt Beach.
Dogs and driving
Under Village Code, dogs are barred from Village beaches between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from May 15 to September 15. Outside those hours dogs must be leashed within 300 feet of ocean road ends. Driving on the sand requires a Town of East Hampton drive-on permit, even inside the Village, and is banned from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in season.
Compare it with Georgica and Main Beach, and see Hamptons Beach Day for the beach itself.
