Halsey Neck Lane Beach is the Village beach closest to Shinnecock Inlet. Village code establishes its parking area as that portion of Halsey Neck Lane bounded by Meadow Lane on the north and the ocean dunes on the south, and reserves it for permit holders from May 15 through September 15.
The code bans parking there between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. year-round, and allows towing. The Village has no lifeguards on the beach and sells no daily pass, so a visitor should plan for the Cooper’s Beach pass at $55 instead. Halsey Neck Lane is also the route to Suffolk County’s Shinnecock East County Park from the east, per the county’s directions.
Getting a permit for Halsey Neck Lane Beach
