Where to buy a Hamptons beach permit
Buy only from the issuing office or its official portal. Southampton Town sells online and in Hampton Bays, East Hampton Village sells through its permit portal, Westhampton Beach sells in person at the beach, and daily parking runs through Passport and ParkMobile apps.
Hamptons Beach Pass sells nothing. Every page here links the office that does, and this guide pulls those links together. Permits are non-refundable almost everywhere, so confirm the beach and the office first with the town versus village guide.

Apps for daily parking
- Passport Parking: Town of Southampton beaches. Install the app ahead of time, but pay only at the beach after you secure a space. The Town says no refunds.
- ParkMobile: East Hampton Village (Main Beach Lot 2 and Two Mile Hollow), Shelter Island and Sag Harbor. East Hampton Village uses fixed zone numbers; Shelter Island lets you search alternate locations if your beach is sold out.
Card statements and fees
Southampton Town card charges appear on a statement as PSPT SHMPTN BCH, with the letters NC and a 704 phone number. Online transactions carry a $2.25 service fee, and all card payments carry 3 percent. East Hampton Village online purchases add a 6 percent card fee. Check these on the office page before checkout.
What to bring
Bring the vehicle registration for every permit. Names must match. Residency documents vary: see the proof-of-residency guide. Seasonal and year-round tenants should have the lease and the right bills ready.
Enforcement, tickets and tows
We did not find a published beach-parking fine schedule for most of these offices, so we give no fine amounts. The ticket states the amount. What the offices do say:
| Office | Enforcement |
|---|---|
| Village of East Hampton | License plate scanner; digital permits tied to your plate |
| Village of Quogue | Visible permit required; towing at the owner’s expense; a badly affixed sticker counts as none |
| Village of Southampton | Road-end parking is for permit holders May 15 to September 15; no parking 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. year-round; police may tow and charge storage |
| Town of Southampton | Permits required at all hours May 15 to September 15; no refunds |
| Town of East Hampton | “Parking by Permit Only” areas under Town code; permits non-refundable; selling or exchanging one is unlawful |
East Hampton Town and Village parking tickets are paid at the Town Justice Court, 159 Pantigo Road, East Hampton, or online through the court’s ticket portal. The court’s number is (631) 324-4134.
Pay in the app only after you have secured a space. East Hampton Village and Southampton Town both refuse refunds for early payments. Cooper’s Beach wants a seasonal permit on the left rear window and a daily pass on the windshield. Driving rules are separate: see the beach driving guide.
Avoid third parties
If a site you reach through a search result asks you to pay for a Hamptons beach permit and is not on the office list above, check it against the office’s own page first. Enforcement ties each permit to a plate or sticker, and a bought-and-resold permit is unlawful in East Hampton.
When do sales open? See the permit calendar.
