Daily beach parking in the Hamptons

Daily beach parking exists, but it is rationed. Southampton Town beaches charge $40 by Passport app, county parks $18, Kirk Park $35 and Cooper's Beach $55. Most village beaches, Indian Wells and Ditch Plains sell none.

If you do not have a resident sticker, day parking is how you reach most of the Hamptons’ ocean beaches, and the rules differ at every beach. The usual trap is the weekend: several of the best-known beaches sell weekday passes only. This page lists every beach that sells a day pass, with the app and the days. To skip the daily fee entirely, see the non-resident access guide.

Cheaper Southampton Town times

The Town sells two $20 options at the same beaches. Pre-season daily parking runs Monday to Friday from May 15 to June 26, excluding holidays. Sunset parking runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. between May 15 and September 15. Paying for either is still done in the Passport app, and only once you are physically at the beach with a space.

Rules shared by most day passes

  • Pay only after you have a space. Prepaying is not allowed in East Hampton Village and is refused by the Town of Southampton.
  • Daily permits are non-refundable.
  • Permits are tied to the beach or lot where you bought them. The Town of Southampton says its daily permits are non-transferable from the location of purchase.
  • Digital permits link to your plate; enforcement is by plate scanner in East Hampton Village.

Weekend plan

On a July Saturday, the dependable options are the Hampton Bays Town beaches, Long Beach, Kirk Park, Cooper’s, Shelter Island and the county parks. Do not plan around Atlantic Avenue, Flying Point, Mecox or Sagg Main on a weekend, since their day passes are weekday-only.
